Preparing for take-off
I don't know how to write a blog post. I've started this thing over too many times now. But I’m giving it my best shot, so please bear with me.
In a week, I take off for Copenhagen! I'm spending a semester abroad on a DIS program. I can't wait to be there. With every day that passes and every email I receive it gets closer and begins to feel more real.
There’s a lot I wanted to cover in this first post. I wanted to talk about my decision process in choosing DIS Copenhagen, about how difficult it felt then and how right it feels now. I wanted to to talk about how excited I am for all the classes I am taking. I wanted to talk about shopping for winter clothing and preparing myself (physically and mentally) for the cold. I wanted to talk about making packing lists and shopping lists. I wanted to write how learning I would be living in the Arts LLC was such a relief. But I decided to keep it short instead.
Most importantly, I want to write about how excited I am to arrive in Copenhagen! I can’t wait to walk around its cobble stone streets and cycle on its bike highways. I can’t wait to see its colorful houses and beautiful parks. I can’t wait to visit all its museums. As I struggled to write this post, I read plenty of past DIS student blogs and travel websites, which has help me build quite a list of things to do in the city. I am feeling prepared to take on new experiences with new friends in a new city!
In the week I have remaining here at home, I still have plenty to do. I have to pack my bags, arrange my financial situation, take care of insurance, learn Danish (ha), see everyone I know and love again, and lastly say my goodbyes.
I'll hopefully have more intersting things to report once I've arrived in Copenhagen, and maybe I’ll have figured out this blog post thing a bit better by then. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more!
